Half Day

We will follow the main roads along Lake Llanquihue for about 15 km to arrive at “Laguna Poza”. Here we will navigate 5 km on a thin channel that begins as 25 meters wide and slowly narrows to a thin tunnel, hardly 3 meters, surrounded by weeping willows and only accessible by canoes or kayaks. Once we arrive at the source, La Poza’s lake is an ideal place for bird watching, with opportunities to see birds such as Kingfishers, various herons, and regional raptors. We return by the same channel to Lake Llanquihue. The comparison between this immense water mass and the small lagoon and channels will surprise you as much as the change of colors from green to blue.

Duration of navigation 2h30

Level: beginners.

PRICE: $ 35.000 $ Clp/pers

1 Day

We will paddle on the fjord between the villages of Ralun and Cochamo (or vice versa) for 18 km. On our way, we will be able to observe the Yates volcano and snow-covered mountains. It is likely that we will see dolphins and sea lions, main residents of the fjord, and we will certainly have the opportunity to see several pelagic birds in migration such as penguins, terns, pelicans, and petrels.

During lunch time, we will stop at a farm where the owners, a friendly local family, will share the magic of their sustainable lifestyle. From our kayaks, we will visit the village-relay of Cochamo, whose economy depends on the salmon and mussel industries.

2 Days

DAY 1: Our morning navigation will be on the lower part of the Petrohue river: a calm paddle. Reaching the small village of Ralun after our lunch time, we will be on brackish water, already in the fjord of Reloncavi for the rest of the day.  In the afternoon, we will stop at a farm where the owners, a friendly local family, will share their sustainable lifestyle. We will camp on their plot.

DAY 2: After breakfast with our host family, we will set out. On our way, we will be able to observe the Yates volcano and snow-covered mountains. From our kayaks, we will visit the village-relay of Cochamo, whose economy depends on the salmon and mussel industries. Depending on the tide level, we might have a chance to go up the river of Cochamo’s valley for a few kilometers before heading back to Puerto Varas.
