The Route of parks

How can I experience it?

What is this?

The Route of Parks is a conservation and responsible ecotourism project by Tompkins Conservation Foundation with the partnership of the Government of Chile.

It includes 17 national parks, which part of them were land purchased by Douglas Tompkins since the 1960's with the objective of conserving the integrity of the territory, flora and fauna.

Those lands have been donated in April 2019 to the Government converting them into national parks. As a response, they promised to add some territories to the National Parks and convert some National Reserves into parks.

It is an enormous territory, including 3 regions of Chile, with 2800 kilometers of protected lands from Puerto Montt to Cap Horn.

To travel the entire route, you should consider a minimum of 3 weeks and ideally more.

We offer guided itineraries where prices vary according to accommodation options and number of participants. We have flexibility so let us know if you want to add any details or stops during your trip.

All of our itineraries start in Puerto Montt and cover the northern part of the Route of Parks.
