Terms and Conditions

Contact and Bookings

To ensure a personalized and safe service, all reservations must be made in writing through our official channels:

Once your request is received, our team will send you a formal confirmation.

To secure your spot and confirm the booking, we require an upfront payment of 50% of the total service cost.

 

This payment can be made via:

  • Bank transfer or deposit (in Chilean Pesos - CLP).

  • WeTravel Platform (in USD, applying a 5% transaction fee surcharge at the current exchange rate).

Payment of the remaining balance (50%):

  • If paying in cash or transfer (CLP): Must be paid at least 24 hours before the start of the activity.

  • If paying via WeTravel (USD): Must be paid at least 7 days before the start of the activity (5% surcharge applies). (Note: The booking will only be considered confirmed once we have received proof of the initial deposit).

We understand that plans can change, which is why we offer the following alternatives:

  • Notice of 30 days or more: Full refund of the amount paid (50% deposit).

  • Notice between 29 and 7 days: The deposit is non-refundable, but we offer the option to reschedule your trip for a new date or transfer your booking to another person at no extra cost.

  • Notice of less than 7 days: No refunds or rescheduling will be provided.

Passenger Force Majeure Exception: If you must cancel due to verifiable force majeure situations (e.g., severe medical emergencies or mandatory legal obligations), Management will evaluate your case. By presenting the corresponding official or medical certificate, a full refund, date change, or booking transfer may be authorized, subject to availability.

Weather Conditions: Our activities take place immersed in wild Patagonia, so they are not canceled due to rain or normal weather conditions. The activity will only be suspended if the weather poses a real safety risk. In this exclusive case, determined by the head guide, a date change or full refund will be offered.

Cancellations, Modification & Weather Policy

Pricing and Departure Logistics

Rates published on our website are subject to possible changes; your final price will be locked in at the moment the booking is confirmed.

Our rates include pick-up and drop-off from your accommodation, provided it is located within the urban radius of Puerto Varas. For accommodations outside this area, please inquire about potential transport surcharges.

Force Majeure (Agency Responsibility)

Jass Puerto Varas acts with the utmost diligence but cannot be held responsible for itinerary alterations, losses, or additional expenses arising from situations beyond our control, such as natural disasters, pandemics, government restrictions, armed conflicts, or strikes. Any extra expenses generated by these events must be covered by the client.

Insurance and Safety

We operate strictly under Chilean adventure tourism regulations.

  • We have transport and adventure tourism insurance policies that cover participants between 18 and 65 years old.

  • Participants outside this age range (minors or seniors) are covered but must sign a Liability Waiver / Consent Declaration. For minors, this document must be signed by their legal guardian.

​Recommendation: We always  recommand our guests travel with personal medical and travel insurance for eventualities outside the activity.

Requirements and Minor Participation

We want families to enjoy safely:

 

Infants (0 to 2 years): Participate free of charge (only in suitable activities).

Sea Kayaking: The minimum age to paddle is 8 years old.

Supervision: All minors under 14 must be accompanied by a responsible adult throughout the tour.

Evaluation: The participation of any passenger (adult or child) is always subject to the guide's technical evaluation on the field, considering physical condition and weather.

Personal Data Protection

To guarantee your safety and comply with maritime and insurance regulations, upon booking we will request: Full name, date of birth, nationality, and Passport/ID number.

 

This data is for exclusive and confidential use for tour operations (insurance companies, departure requests to the Chilean Navy/Maritime Authority). Jass Puerto Varas protects your privacy and is not responsible for malicious third-party interventions (hacking).

Payment Terms

By paying the 50% booking deposit, the passenger (and their group) declares to have read, understood, and fully accepted all the Terms and Conditions set forth in this document.
