Hello hungry adventure friends! You know hwat is great for a camping breakfast, a midday snack or a birthday party? Our awesome lemon and myrtle bread.
To be fair here, this is a lemon and "Murta" bread. Google says that myrtle and murta are the same, but I am not sure, so keep that in mind.
Lemon and Murta Bread
makes 2 molds
Ingredients:
Dry Mix
3 cups of white flour
1 cup of whole wheat flour
3 teaspoon of baking powder
1 teaspoon of baking soda
2 pinches of salt
Wet Mix
1/2 cup of butter or margarine
1/2 cup of sugar
1 1/2 cups of liquid: the juice of two lemons + water
Zest from 2 lemons
2 eggs
3 cups of fresh or frozen murta.
Instructions:
1- Mix each mixture (dry and wet) in separate bowls. Once they are thoroughly mixed, combine and stir until even.
2-Add the murtas.
3-Separete the mixture in two, and place in two greased and floured molds (10cm x 20 cm)
4- Bake for 40 min at 350° C and then for 20 min at 325°C (60 min total)
